Ownership
Who Owns What
You own your website files and your Google Business Profile, always. Your Google profile stays in your name and under your control the entire time. If you ever decide to leave, you receive your complete website files and a guide to hosting them yourself, at no charge.
Two things worth being upfront about. Your contact form is connected to our system, so it stops collecting messages when you leave. The form is still in the files you receive, but you'd need to connect it to another service or have it rebuilt. And your directory listings are published through a syndication service included in your subscription, so they'll gradually revert to their previous information if the subscription ends.
Do I own my website?
Yes. You own your website files and your Google Business Profile, and your domain stays registered in your name. If you ever leave, you receive the complete files and a guide to hosting them yourself, at no charge. Two exceptions worth knowing: your contact form is connected to our system and stops working when you leave, and your directory listings are published through a syndication service that ends with the subscription.
Do you handle hosting and the domain, or do I deal with that myself?
Hosting, minor edits, and domain setup are all built into the $297/month subscription and fully handled by Everett. The domain is registered in your name, so it stays yours, but you don't need to spend any of your time on it.
What if I already have a website?
If you already have a site, Everett will clean it up, add anything new you want, and put focused effort into your Google Business Profile.
